Autism affects 1 out of every 150
children.  According to the Harvard
School of Public Health the total cost
of caring for a person with autism over
his or her lifetime can be as high as
$3.5 million.  Applied Behavior
Analysis (ABA) therapy is the only
method that has been scientifically
proven to help children with autism
progress. Biomedical interventions are
also becoming a vital component in
improving the lives of children with
autism. Unfortunately, families must
pay for these beneficial therapies out
of pocket with little to no assistance
from insurance or outside sources.

The mission of the Alabama Autism Assistance Program (AAAP) is to
provide scholarships to children diagnosed with autism spectrum
disorders to pay for behavioral therapy, consultation services, and
biomedical interventions in the state of Alabama.  AAAP wants to make
these therapies accessible to every child who would benefit from them.

You can help change children’s lives by making a donation to this much
needed organization.
